About Us
Our aim is to make all our customers feel happy and relaxed whilst shopping at Buffers. We help them find what they want and hopefully give them ideas and advice to aid them in achieving their dreams (within the hobby we mean – we’re not miracle makers!!). We see the shop as part of our extended family, so don’t be surprised if when, after you have had your cup of tea, we put a duster in your hand and get you cleaning, giving advice, or making other customers tea and coffee! James May's Toy Stories As you are all probably aware, we have helped and featured, along with many of our customers, in James May's Toy Stories and we were very proud to help James and his rivals reach the finish lines in Barnstaple and Bideford. As we had our people on both teams we were in a win win situation!!! It was very hard work, long hours, a lot of planning and organising but fabulous fun and helped put the hobby back on the map!! We pride ourselves on being different (actually very different) from the majority of Model Railway shops, but don’t take our word for it, come and visit and see for yourself!! We remain ever faithful to the description James gave us… ‘’The community centre for distressed Railway Modellers’’.
