Rail was the preferred method of transport for much of the twentieth century and each railway company developed locomotives and wagons to move many types of freight. For the Great Western Railway, few tank locomotives were more revered than the 0-6-0 Pannier Tanks, whilst the ‘Toad’ Brake Van was an essential vehicle to bring up the rear of any goods train.
